Two zones solve a timing problem
Ninja's Dual Zone design uses independent cooking zones; its SYNC function coordinates different cooking times to finish together. That can help with a main and a side. It does not show that every dual-drawer appliance cooks evenly, and other brands may implement their controls differently.

Two small drawers are not equivalent to one basket with the same total volume. Measure the food or dish you want to fit, then check usable internal width, depth and height. A removable-divider design adds flexibility, but should still be judged on cooking results in both configurations. Reviews that show the food after cooking are more useful than capacity claims alone.
Compare the complete meal
Check browning, consistency between drawers, access for shaking and how easily the plates clean. For energy use, compare kWh for the same meal and portion size. A claimed percentage saving against an oven applies to the stated test; it is not automatically your household saving. Leave the manufacturer's specified clearance around the appliance.
Your pre-purchase checklist
- List three typical meals and which need different settings.
- Check internal basket dimensions and drawer-opening space.
- Look for cooking and clean-up evidence on the exact model.
