Measure the window before choosing the unit
Check whether your window slides, opens outwards or tilts, then compare that with the manufacturer's kit. Measure the opening and the distance from the intended unit position. An adaptor, a rigid plate and a fabric seal solve different parts of the installation; having one does not guarantee a complete fit.
Seal the gap and follow the hose instructions
Meaco recommends exhausting through the window and sealing the rest of the opening. Its MC-series manual also describes sealing gaps around the window kit. Follow the exact unit's limits for hose routing and clearance; do not assume a longer replacement hose is acceptable. Installation evidence is separate from independent cooling-performance testing.

Read the drainage instructions for the mode you intend to use, and make sure the outlet is accessible. For bedroom use, compare like-for-like noise measurements and compressor behaviour, not just a sleep-mode label. Pre-cooling may fit some routines better than running through the night. We keep the overall portable-AC review order withheld where comparable exact-model testing is missing.
Your pre-purchase checklist
- Match the kit to the opening style and dimensions.
- Check permitted hose routing and clearance.
- Plan drainage, storage and overnight noise before purchase.
